Anti-Bias Education & Implicit Bias
This training will help participants reflect on implicit bias and how their biases manifest in their lives and work. Participants will also develop group norms that provide a foundation for continuing and expanding conversations focused on anti-bias education and other social justice topics.
Team Building
This course will provide a structure and space for early childhood education program staff and leadership to develop respectful working relationships and gain a common understanding of the program’s goals and vision. Participants will begin to build a foundation of teamwork, mutual respect, and developing empathy for coworkers, supervisors, and employees. During the course, participants will engage in relationship building activities, reflect on the ECE program’s vision and philosophy, and develop specific strategies to cultivate and maintain a positive work environment.
Creating Goals for Your ECE Program
This course will explore various reasons to create goals and how articulating goals contribute to childcare program quality improvement. Participants will reflect on the strengths and opportunities for growth within themselves or their childcare program. During the course, participants will practice creating a SMART goal and an action plan to accomplish the goal.
Child Development
This training will provide an overview of child development and the seven developmental domains. Participants will have a better understanding of the developmental progression from birth to 5 years old and learn how that knowledge contributes to building trusting relationships with children. During this training, participants will apply their knowledge of child development to their classroom environment, routines, and interactions with children.
Observation & Assessment
This training session will identify the basic steps in observation and assessment within an early childhood education classroom. We will cover how to gather evidence of children’s development, analyzing the collected data, and using that information to plan for future activities and experiences. Participants will have a better understanding of authentic assessment and practice necessary skills to progress through the data cycle.
Core Body of Knowledge - Creating an Individualized Professional Development Plan
This training will provide an overview of the Core Body of Knowledge (CBK), how participants can use it for self-assessment, and create an individualized professional development plan. We will also talk about how the Core Body of Knowledge intersects with equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Intentional Environments
This course will review various strategies and techniques to create classroom environments that are intentionally planned to support the learning and developmental goals of children 3 – 5 years old. Participants will gain a better understanding of the strengths and challenges of their classroom arrangement and develop a plan to address those challenges. During this course, teachers will create a plan of action to ensure their classroom environment is inclusive, equitable, and engaging.
Lesson Planning
This course will explore various ways to approach planning experiences for children to have throughout the day. Participants will reflect on their own planning techniques and refine or develop new strategies. During the course, teachers will practice creating activities that are play-based, inclusive, and equitable experiences for children 3 – 5 years old.
